My dad bought this for me when it came out and he still has the box it came in (filled with paperback books) which is in perfect condition. The price tag is still on it too, $34.95. No idea what happened to the castle but, thanks to Dad, I still have the box!!
i have a story about this toy…which ill gladly tell you now…..me and my uncle and a bunch of other folks i dont remember went to a yard sale years ago and he just had to go to the bathroom…and that was a bad mistake…i got this toy…a bunch of other he man toys…and i walked away happy that day……im hoping my uncle will see this…i imagine a dramatic camera pull away and him screaming into the air with his fists raised…lol
It was He-Man. Back then they could have been taking a steaming pile on this thing in the commercial and us kids STILL would have wanted this. =p
i think i sold all mine to buy games when i got older

Awesome classic, this will for ever be the most rememberable ERA …of my time being just a kid… back then.
OMG! How ANYONE actually bought this thing based on the commercial I’ll never know. I think it must have been sold on the power of cool that he-man exuded.
BEST TIME of my life!
i used to have this.. with tons of figures and all that.. i wonder what happened to it..
I had so much fun playing he-man as a kid. Born in 1977, this was in my prime as a kid ! Fantastic. Had so much fun … I remember the gun, chair and trap door …. why oh why didnt I keep this wonderful set? Surely it would be a collectors item today !!
This was the commercial that basically made me a converted He-Man fan. Looking at it now, they sure make that castle look huge! Wow! Talk about skilled photographers
This was one of my favorite toys when I was a kid.
Even when I was 11, I wanted to smack the dad in the commercial. What an a-hole.
i love the way he says ‘you have to put the castle together’
Yeah i wish i had the one my friend had, id mod the mic circuits amd maybe build a vintage ipod speaker out of the mic unit so my music from my ipod has that echo sound, or just leave it as is
Snake Mountain (Skeletor’s hideout) had the microphone. Hella cool.
…the only action figures I ever had are on this commercial. Boring stuff.
My best friend had this i remember there was this mic on it that made your voice all wierd id like to get my hands on just the mic system unit
My brother had this… omg, I’d forgotten all about it…
I never got this! I got the Crystal Castle, though, which was some consolation.
I agree. They were basically half-hour toy commercials but it was some kick-ass animation and I loved that show as a kid. But yeah, Orko needs to be banished to some sort of netherworld where he can live among his own kind. *cough*JarJar*cough*
I have to say, even though the cartoon was produced to sell these freakin’ toys, it was a seriously high-quality work of animation!
Some of the storylines were even great – of course, they had J. Micheal Straycinzki (creator of Babylon 5) writing for them.
I still think Orko should have been killed, though.
