A lot of people considered this cartoon better than the tv show.
Cartoons of sitcoms like this rarely work because they key succes of the show was Soliel Moon Fryes sparklingly innocent personality and chemistry with George Gaynes was impossible to transfer to an animated medium.
This was another horrible cartoon based on a great sitcom!

I suppose that had something to do with the age demographic which Punky Brewster,the TV sitcom,had drew every Sunday night during its debut 1984-85 season prior to this.
Her dog Brandon was 2nd fiddle to Glomer in the animated series,it seems!
